This footage taken during the Summer 2020 by the team led by Prof Bottarelli (UNIFE) & Prof Vincenzi (CFR) records the onsite installation of the IDEAS system in the TeknHub lab of the University of Ferrara (Italy)..
It shows the installation of the following components:
- ground source heat exchangers installed into trenches backfilled with PCMs
- hybrid photovoltaic panels for power and thermal energy (PVT)
- PVT thermal storage tank filled with phase change materials (PCMs)
- HMI for system automation
This system has been producing data (over Summer and Winter conditions) that will be essential in the optimisation of the two large demonstration sites to be installed in Q3 2021.
